Bennett Funeral Home gathering room set for a memorial

A memorial service is held after burial or cremation has already taken place. Without a casket present, the focus shifts entirely to remembrance — the stories, the photographs, the music, the favorite recipes, the things that made this person who they were.

Where and how

We host memorial services in our chapel and in our larger gathering room (capacity up to 120). Many families also host memorial services at their church, at the family farmhouse, at a favorite park or restaurant, or at a graveside under the open sky. We handle the logistics; you choose the setting.

What we can help arrange

  • Officiant coordination (clergy, family member, or hired celebrant)
  • Personalized photo and video tribute
  • Memorial folders and register book
  • Audio and projection for tributes and music
  • Live streaming for distant family
  • Coordination with caterers, florists, and musicians
  • A reception space in our gathering room with light refreshments

For families who want something less traditional

Memorial services have become a favored option for families who want to take their time, gather scattered family from across the country, or hold the gathering at a place that meant something to their loved one. We’ve helped Quincy families plan everything from a quiet Sunday-afternoon tea in our parlor to a full Saturday hog roast at the family farm. Whatever feels right is right.
